Current Top 3 Must Have Baby Items

1x1.trans Current Top 3 Must Have Baby Items

In case you are just tuning in, we had our second child {and first boy} 5 weeks ago today.  I know everyone said they would be different, but it amazes me just how different they are when at the same time they are so similar.

I think the biggest difference for us is in the baby gear that we are using now.  Big sister slept in her crib from day one so we didn’t have to worry about a lot of the baby gear that is used to help get babies to sleep or for having them sleep in your room.

With baby brother it is a different story.  He is not a fan of sleeping in his crib.  Part of it may be because I slept with him on my chest on the couch for the first few days.  This was due to my c-secti0n.  I had one with big sister but the staples this time kept me from being able to sleep in bed.

Baby brother loves his Contours bassinet and we have found that if we take the Moses basket off the top and put it in our room, we can get him to sleep outside of our bed that way too.  I have thought about purchasing a separate Moses basket for upstairs just so we don’t have to move things around all the time.

With big sister we also didn’t have a baby swing.  I had a portable one at the office that she used sometimes, but we didn’t have a big one at home.  Baby brother spends a ton of time in his Cradle and Sway swing.  He does fall asleep and stay asleep in there but he also just likes to hang out in it.

I “wear” baby brother much more than I did his big sister.  I think some of that comes from needing my hands free for her.  We take our Baby Bjorn everywhere with us!  I can’t believe I ever grocery shopped without it.  It is such a huge help and it is so easy to use.

What is your favorite baby gear item?  Were your kids as different as mine are?

I don’t think I ever said CONGRATS, Amanda!

He’s adorable. I, too, used a wrap a TON in those first few months with my second daughter. It was so much easier to do anything ESPECIALLY when we were out of the house.

My little guy LOVED his swing his first few months. He slept in the newborn napper part of his pack n play for the first 3 months in our room and slept great.
