This will likely be my last post. I am a little late posting this week, and we are scheduled to have the c-section next Wednesday!
Baby’s Size: Watermelon (19 – 22 in., 7 lbs.)
Symptoms: Morning sickness…. I know! I thought this was long over but apparently it is the body’s way of getting ready for labor and not wanting a ton of junk in your stomach.
Weight Gain: 17 lbs (down 1.3 since last week). I am sure the morning sickness has a lot to do with this. Hopefully my doctor won’t get mad at me when I go in tomorrow. It isn’t like I am trying to lose weight, and when I eat I am still trying to eat really healthy.
Movement: He loves to move late at night which has been keeping me up later than I would like but I just love to feel it so I don’t complain.
Thoughts from Monkey Girl: Apparently she has been concerned about when I go to the hospital to have brother. She didn’t tell me anything but when my mom watched her last week she told my mom she was concerned. She had been biting her lip and when my mom asked her why she said she was worried. When my mom asked her what she was worried about she said mommy going to the hospital to have brother. It just broke my heart! I think she is too smart for her own good. She associates hospitals with people being very hurt or very sick. I have tried now to explain to her that the hospital is just where the doctor works (and she met my OB last week when she went to the appointment with me). My mom took her yesterday to go visit the maternity ward at our hospital (and the gift shop) and now she says she isn’t worried any more.

I think you handled your daughter’s worry beautifully. Introducing her to your OB and then your mom taking her to the hospital gift shop and maternity ward is an excellent idea!

So fun to read!! I will have to start taking my little guy to the maternity ward. That is so precious and smart of your daughter. Happy safe delivery! My c-section is scheduled in 6 weeks I feel like its such a countdown.
I agree about the countdown. It is so funny – people will say “maybe you will have a Valentine’s Day baby” and I tell them that, nope – he will be out on the 13th!
My 1st baby had to be rushed to another hospital as soon as she was born, due to an unseen heart defect (SCARY!)- So, I didn’t even get to hold her until she was a week old, b/c of her heart surgery : ( Needless to say, w/my second baby, he NEVER left my side in the hospital. I already missed out on all that bonding time the 1st round, I want missing a minute the 2nd time around. And, it was pretty easy! I always had a nurse or daddy if I needed help, I never felt too tired or exhausted. I loved every.single. moment.
