Welcome to another great post for the New Year, New Home event I’m hosting with Emily from Baby Dickey and Elizabeth from Being MVP! We’re all working hard on our new houses with furniture, appliances, and décor, and we’re excited to share some new companies with you! This week we have great reviews and a giveaway from Lamps.com.
We love our new house and one of the big selling points for us what that nothing *had to be* done to make it liveable but there was a lot that *could be* done to make it much nicer. We don’t have the budget to do most of the items on our list immediately, but there are always certain touches that can be added to make a room look nicer or *redone* on a much smaller budget.
My husband has turned the basement in our new house into his “man cave.” It is nice for him to have a separate area, not only to relax, but also to get ready in the morning as he has to go to work very early. The original lighting in the basement was horrible and he always complained about it. If both lights were turned on it was way too light, but if only one was on, it wasn’t light enough.
We searched Lamps.com for the perfect light and I have to say I was actually surprised when he picked the Elk Lighting – Celina 1 Light Semi Flush. It seemend a little flashy but I should have trusted his decorating instincts ~ installed it looks great!
It provides just the right amount of light for his needs and adds that special touch to make the room feel as if we have done something with it, even though the paint, shelving, and carpeting that are on the to-do list may not get done for a while.
I really enjoyed shopping for the lighting at Lamps.com. They have an amazing selection but it is broken down into categories so that it isn’t too overwhelming to search. You can also have the results sorted by price, color, size, etc. so that you can find what you are truly looking for.
Lamps.com also carries a wide selection of wall lights, ceiling fans, outdoor lights and pretty much all the lighting you could need in your home. They offer free lightbulbs with each order as well as free shipping!

O boy! – Not only do they have a fabulous selection – but it just so happens that we really need some new lamps (and lighting systems) not only for decor but because our aging eyes REALLY NEED the additional light!
Among the offerings that immediately caught my eyes in the Floor Lamp department are the Adesso 3366-22 – Atlas Flor Lamp and the somewhat pricely ET2 Passion Floor Lamp.
