Well, I missed another week. My husband’s grandmother passed away the day after Christmas so we were busy with not only the holidays but also family and travel.
Baby’s Size: Large cantaloupe (19 – 22 in., 5.5 lbs.)
Symptoms: I just feel big. It was like overnight my belly has started to get in the way. Tying my shoes is now a chore. Washing the dishes is more difficult ~ sometimes I wish I was an inch taller so my belly would fit over the counter, but then it would get all wet. I have also officially begun to retain water
My ankles are swelling ever so slightly but it is uncomfortable and I know if I don’t watch what I eat and drink enough water that it will get worse. I had not been doing well with eating out (see weight gain below) and traveling didn’t help. I have decided to do a modified Paleo diet to try and cut out the unnecessary processed foods and sugars (see this weeks meal plan). I have found a great resource to help me not only with my meal planning but also my shopping list ~ Emeals. Next week will be my first week using their plan for the Paleo diet so I will report back on what I think.
Weight Gain: 16.5 lbs (4.5 lbs since last post ~ 2 weeks ago). As stated above, we were traveling some for the funeral and fast food is never good! Hopefully I can make better choices with the food I eat and drink more water so that I can keep my weight gain under control. I have also started tracking my food on MyFitnessPal again.
Movement: He moves all the time! While I love an active baby, it is making sleeping harder and I fear this is a sign for how active he will be when he gets out. So much for planning on another passive, mellow, quiet kid
Thoughts from Monkey Girl: We are officially nesting and have picked out colors for baby boy’s room as well as decals from My Wonderful Walls (stay tuned for a review and giveaway!). She had a lot of fun helping pick out the colors {even if it wasn’t the fire truck red that she picked out}. She keeps asking about his crib and is just as excited as we are to see the room all set up!

Sounds like everything is going great! Cute shirt, too! I had trouble drinking plenty of water, too.
