Did you know that the Baby Björn company is now 50 years old? When I had my daughter 2 years ago I knew them for their baby carrier, but I had no idea that they actually started off with a bouncer! Björn Jakobson’s nephew Nisse, now in his 50s, was the first child in Europe to use a BABYBJÖRN bouncer.
Babysitting can have unexpected consequences for a young student. For Björn Jakobson, it was the prelude to his life’s work, BabyBjörn AB. During a trip to the U.S. in the 60s, Björn saw a bouncer and brought it home to his nephew Nisse, whom he would babysit often. Nisse liked the bouncer right away.
Nisse’s mother, Björn’s sister-in-law Elsa, also liked the bouncer. She could have her hands free while Nisse played or slept in the bouncer. Bouncers were not available in Sweden, so Elsa and Björn started a company to produce bouncers for Swedish babies.
The Baby Björn Babysitter Balance is more than just a “bouncy seat”. It’s an ergonomic place for baby to relax, play and enjoy the view around him or her. The bouncer fits children from newborn to approximately 2 years (8-29 lbs/3.5-13 kg).

I was excited to receive this product as part of my It’s A Boy baby event. We will need a bouncer when Baby Boy arrives, but we were also in need of something for when friends and family with little ones come to visit.
Little Man from Joy of Momma Joyner was the first to get to try it out. At first he wasn’t to sure what was going on when we put him in the seat. He looked very comfortable in it physically, but it was a very new experience for him.
Then Big Sis got involved and showed him how he could make it bounce. Once he learned that he could make it move, it was a lot more enjoyable.
The bouncer was super easy to set up (because it comes fully assembled!) and I really like that the cover is machine washable, reversible, and you can buy spares!

I learned that it can hold kids from “8-29 lbs” which is surprising to me, I think most bouncers go to maybe 20 pounds.
I learned that baby bjorn has a new highchair. It looks pretty slick.

You can get spare covers for them? I didn’t know that, that’s awesome. I usually get baby items in boring colors because I’m afraid I’ll get tired of the bold ones, but being able to switch them out is great!

I just recently heard of this seat. For the longest time I only knew baby bjorn for their carrier (my husband loves it btw). Now I know they have many other products. The toilet seat for potty training works wonders for ECing with my son! The tall end helps catch it love it!

Its great that this works for newborns! My baby spits up a lot so I think this would be great.

When I heard about Baby Bjorn when I had my first one 5 years ago, I only know them for their popular baby carrier. It is interesting to find out their first product is a bouncer.
The child’s weight is evenly distributed over the seat, which results in good support for his/her head and back.
I learned they have a lot of different baby carriers!
