My Prize!

We love to read with our daughter all the time. But now that it is getting cooler outside we are spending more time inside and more time reading. Do you read your children classic nursery rhymes or the “classic” stories such as Little Red Riding Hood or Jack and the Beanstalk? Are you ever concerned about the imagery and story lines of these books? I mean seriously ~ “Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman, Be he live, or be he dead I’ll grind his bones to make my bread.” That would give any child nightmares!
The original Little Red Riding Hood has a scary wolf that eats Grandma…what kind of visual is that for a small child?? My 1story books have set out to recreate fairy tales in a way that teaches children positive lessons!
Created by former Disney execs, these picture books are full of lovable characters and adorable illustrations. They also now have adorable plush dolls of Lil’ Riding Hood and Beanie, straight from the beautifully illustrated pages.
I received Lil Riding Hood and Wolfie I Love Cake! along with the matching plush toy. This version of the book follows along the original story line but ends with everyone sharing cake together. It’s a very sweet story and perfect for children of all ages. We have read it so much, even though my 2 year old daughter can’t read, she loves “reading” the book to Riding Hood and her other stuffed toys.
Monkey Girl loves the book so much that she has asked to take it to daycare on occasion. Our daycare provider was very pleased by the book because she could read it to the children, no matter what their age, and feel comfortable that they were taking away a great lesson without the nightmares!
Jaime Rodriguez and Ricardo Venegas’ new line of My 1story books also includes Jack’s Beanstalks in Jack and the Magic Beans, with three other titles already in the making! These classics for the 21st century will delight children everywhere.
One lucky Coping with Frugality reader will win their very own copy of this great book along with the adorable plush. Just enter on the easy form below.
If you can’t wait to learn more about what’s to come, the company has a Youtube channel to feature videos of its characters and story concepts even before they become full books, as well as games that are featured on their website www.myfirstory.com where you will find games, fun stuff and characters.

I love Chicken Little and the Ugly Duckling!
I would live to win these for my daughter. Even though she is 7-1/2 months old, she is already having night terrors and I don’t want to start reading scary stories to her.
