My husband and I have always loved getting ready for Halloween and carving pumpkins. As our daughter grows it becomes so much more enjoyable. We had a blast at the pumpkin patch picking out the perfect carving pumpkins.
Then we got to dive in and get dirty preparing them for carving!
I love roasted pumpkin seeds so we always keep a separate bowl for the seeds. Monkey Girl loved the feel of them as she would stir them with her hands.
Picking the right “face” for each of our jack-o-lanterns was probably the hardest part. Monkey Girl decided she wanted a silly face on her jack-o-lantern.
My husband always wants a jack-o-lantern with a scary face.
And I always want to do something intricate ~ this year I went with a jack-o-lantern Wicked Witch of the West.
And here is our happy Jack-o-Lantern Family
Did you carve pumpkins this year? What do your Jack-o-Lanterns look like?

Love your pumpkins! We carved pumpkins as well and did a cute spider on ours. We also saved the seeds… I’m not a fan, but my hubby and big girls are so I make the seeds for them
Sigh…we carved pumpkins tonight using a template for one. My son’s didn’t quite work out so we’ll have to get a new pumpkin tomorrow. I felt bad for him and the time he spent on it. My youngest son has refused his entire life to touch the pumpkin guts while my oldest son and I love it. lol
