I love making shakes for breakfast! I am not a morning person, so I never get up with enough time to cook breakfast. But if I don’t eat breakfast, I have no energy all day. I need protein throughout the day in order to stay energized. A great way I have found to get a protein packed breakfast in the morning is to make a protein shake. Sometimes I plan ahead and have yogurt, fruit, juice, and protein powder all ready to go in the blender so that all I have to do is pull it out of the fridge and blend it up in the morning. But to be honest, that sometimes really is rarely.
If you have a good protein powder, you can just mix it with milk or juice (or sometimes even water) and have a super easy breakfast to go. However, you have to have something to mix it in. I have tried putting the mixture in a water bottle and just shaking it up, but there are always a few chunks that don’t break up. I was complaining about this problem to my friend Johanna from Mama Chocolate, and she offered to send me a Medifast Blender Bottle. What I really like about the Medifast Blender Bottle is that it features a rust-proof, stainless steel blender ball that really helps make my shake smooth.
Medifast offers more than just a great blender bottle. Medifast is a clinically proven meal program that was developed by a physician. Medifast products are formulated with low-fat protein and fiber, and fortified with vitamins and nutrients, so you lose pounds and inches without losing out on essential nutrition. The low-glycemic index formula of Medifast Meals makes them perfect for everyone, even people with type 2 diabetes. I am always looking for easy meal solutions that are healthy. I have blood sugar issues that require me to eat high protein and low carb foods.
Johanna and her husband are coaches with the Take Shape for Life Program so when she sent me the blender bottle, she also sent me some of the awesome Medifast food that is part of the program. The Take Shape For Life program offers you a free personal Health Coach who will guide you as you lose weight on the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan®, by using the clinically proven, doctor-recommended, portion-controlled nutrition of Medifast Meals. Along the way, your Health Coach will share with you the Habits of Health that can help you to make the choices that will allow you take charge of your health for the long term.
Making the right food choices and sticking with your plan can be quite difficult. Having a personal Health Coach that with you every step of the way for you for support, help, and advice is one of the huge advantages of Take Shape for Life. It doesn’t hurt that the Medifast food tastes great too.
Johanna sent me some of the meal bars, shakes and soups. The meal bars were a great snack on the go for me. My trainer recommends that I eat something low in calories but high in protein after my workouts. These bars are perfect for that and taste great. The shakes were perfect in the blender bottle. I was really skeptical of the soups. They come dehydrated in a packet that you just add water to. I had picked the Maryland Crab soup and I was wondering how that would taste in a reconstituted mix. There was no need to worry, it was fabulous!! All of the Medifast food is super affordable too. The soups come in packs of 7 for $16.50. For just over $2.00 per soup, it is comparable to what you would pay for not-so-healthy canned soups at the store.
Johanna wants to see everyone succeed with their health, weight loss and fitness goals. If you are interested in Take Shape for Life you can contact Johanna and her husband John through their homepage to learn more.
