Barbara Schantz is the genius behind Baby Dipper bowl. She came by this great product out of necessity. Barbara is the mom of twin girls, Greta and Cora, born in 2004, and also the mother of twin boys, Franklin and Carlton, born in 2008. As a stay-at-home mom of twin babies, she faced the daunting task of feeding them. Frustrated with the bowls she had already purchased, she investigated and bought other bowls, but still remained disappointed. The vision for the Baby Dipper® bowl came to her when Cora and Greta were about 6 months old, not long after they started eating baby cereal and other pureed foods. Barbara needed a bowl that required only one hand to successfully feed a baby, but wasn’t able to find one on the market that satisfied this need.
Barbara had the amazing insight to realize that the best way to accomplish one-handed feeding was to have a bowl that does not slide around on the table. She also thought that it should aid in the collection of the baby food. The non-slip bottom surface keeps the bowl from sliding around. The dip on the interior of the Baby Dipper Bowl (hence the name) act like a catch-all for the food which means you don’t have to pick up the bowl to scrape the sides for food. The bowl she designed has proven to make feeding much easier for parents and even for toddlers trying to spoon-feed themselves. And of course, the features that are most important to me: all her products are BPA, lead and phathalate free! The patented Baby Dipper bowl is truly unique in the marketplace and hopefully can truly help parents everywhere.
We love this bowl! Monkey girl loves to feed herself now and this bowl makes it much easier. She is able to scoop food out without the bowl sliding away from her on the tray. The bowl holds 4 oz of food which is not a whole lot and as Monkey Girl grows she may grow out of it. But for now it is great for the foods she likes to feed herself (mac and cheese is her favorite) and we put finger foods or foods we are feeding her in other bowls. And we have some great news, Baby Dipper bowl just came out with a pink bowl and utensils!!
